There's a lot of markets on at this time of year! They're a great option for finding truly Tasmanian gifts, hand crafted, unique and definitely not fishy. The Moonbow will be attending several markets this month with our range of books and cards including The Moonbow and Living With Jezebel as well as toys, posters and prints by Allen Levings and a new range of turned wooden lighthouses by Adrian Levings. It's truly a family affair, see you there.
December 8 Tarremah Christmas Markets, 2 - 4pm, Tarremah School Hall, Huntingfield
December 9 Woodbridge Christmas Markets, Woodbridge Hall, Channel Highway, Woodbridge
.... tba .... more to come
If you've been watching the Facebook page (@TheMoonbowStory) you would have been warned about the advent of these little critters into the world. It's taken a while but the first batch of Myrtles and Mutters are ready to be unleashed. Behold: the argumentative army!
At present, Myrtle and Mutter will be available exclusively at The Moonbow market stall. You can find us this Sunday 8 October at the Kingston Handmade Markets on Beach Road, Kingston. Open 10 - 3pm. Come along and say hello!
Well, that was winter! It's been a quiet time here in Moonbow land but not an unproductive one. The good news is that there's lots of things coming up.
I went along to Margate Primary last week and had a great time reading The Moonbow for bookweek. It's such fun to read to small people! I get to do it all again as part of the TASMANIAN READERS AND WRITERS FESTIVAL 2017. If you are in Hobart and have small people then come along to this FREE EVENT. The Book Nook will be located in Hadley's Atrium over the weekend 16 -17th September. There are going to be lots and lots of readings by Tasmanian authors, music, drawing, story writing and heaps of fun. I'll be there reading The Moonbow at 1pm on Sunday - see you there :)
Hope the Easter Bandicoot brings lots of the good chocolate eggs! More news on markets and such coming soon, but for now, have a great break, especially if you're on school holidays :)
Really pleased to introduce the new Moonbow range of greeting cards! Myrtlewump and Mutterbee are now appearing on these cute cards which use imagery from the book as well as some original images. We even have an Easter card. Anybody wants their eggs delivered by Bandicoot this year?
The cards are currently available exclusively from The Moonbow market stall, which will be found at the next Franklin Markets on Sunday 26th March. Come along and say hello if you are local :)
Wow, Happy New Year and Where-Did-That-Go? Middle of February already!
There's been a lot happening in Moonbow land, interviews, reviews and market places.
If you'd like to know more about the book, the inspirations behind it and the process of producing it then cruise on over to the Tasmanian Writer's Center Up Close and Personal Blog where you can read an interview with self about same. The Moonbow was also honored to be included in the Tasmanian Writers Center's January Recommended Reads. Apparently there was a great response to the give away :D
I recently received the book's first independent review from Junior Bookworms Online. Four out of five, not too shabby, and I was really delighted to see it was based directly on the input of small people who have experienced the book :)
Finally, it's market time this weekend! You can find The Moonbow at the very first Margate Markets between 10 am and 2pm tomorrow in the Margate Hall, Channel Highway. It's my first market stall so come along and say hello.
If you're not down south then you can always trundle along to the Salamanca Markets where the lovely Marion Lucy will once again have The Moonbow for sale on her stall.
With very best wishes to all for a very Merry Moonbow Christmas and a fantastic, safe & healthy New Year 2017!
Following on from our successful launch at Fullers last week The Moonbow is honoured to be included amongst the very distinguished company in Fullers Bookshop's new Tasmanian Book Guide! Thanks Fullers :)
A little behind the times but still, better late than never!
